    Default Perched in a sea of cattails - female redwing blackbird with snack

    This image was taken several years ago, but I revisited it and changed the processing a bit


    D700 600VR f/4, 1/1000 ISO 800

    Post: small crop for comp. toned down the luminosity of the cattail, as it was a bit distracting in some areas. Slight vignette applied.

    Advice and comments appreciated.

    I like the jam packed beak, soft pastel BG, pose and composition wise I could see this as a vertical but you would lose some of that nice BG. Very nice Randy.

    Great scene with a beautiful BG. The square crop works well here. The short raised head feathers add a bit of interest. That bill-full of food looks so yummy...not!
