Snowy plover chicks are so tiny and fast moving they are a challenge to photograph, but they sure are cute... like cotton balls with legs! This is an image I took quite a long time ago, and ran across while I was cleaning out files.

    1/1250 sec
    Aperture: 9
    Flash: Off
    Metering mode: Multi-segment
    ISO: 400
    Focal length: 1000mm
Cropped about 10% and cloned out a small shadow from the left frame edge.

So darn cute. It looks just a touch soft. Maybe another round of USM.

Of course, I love it, and I know how hard you worked on these little guys. It looks sharp enough for me. I might consider getting rid of the tiny black gootchkie in the middle of his neck; not sure if it is a feather, but my eye keeps getting drawn there.

They really are difficult to photograph when they zoom around the beach. :) Very nice angle and sharpness looks good to me. The fuzzy plumage makes it look softer than it is.

Great shot, Linda. The chick is so cute!! I agree that the sharpness looks good.
