Another shot of the same Yellow-eyed Penguin, this time with a nicer background (the sun hitting the sand on the beach / the cliff side). As before this bird was in the shade by a bush. Cloned out a couple small things in the BG, NR, sharpened.

Alex - the contrast between the purple/ red on the eye rim/ bill and the orange and yellows in the BG is awesome. I agree with Will and Gail about the oof fg.
Alex, I like this and especially the clear detailed head. My suggestion would be to lose the bottom and crop tighter to really showcase the head, maybe crop where the green begins and slice a bit off the RHS as well. This is special!
Thanks all -- greatly appreciate it. It was hard to get a decent BG and a clear shot at the penguin. I'll take another look at the crop and also see if I have any frames that are tighter on the face. I picked this crop here in order to not clip the flipper which is not very visible on second look. Thanks again all, Best,
