This capture was made last month near Grayling, MI at a rest area! Shoulder stock mounted Nikon D200, 80-400mm at 400. 1/125, f11, ISO 640, auto exp. +.67, SB800 fill flash -2.0. PP in CS3, sharpened with Nik, NR with Noise Ninja, selectively. I had to tone down the whites in the nest with S/H layer (the nest appears to be made from rest stop TP?) Cropped about 40%. C & C welcome.

    Hi Dan,

A very nice intimate moment. The bird looks a little soft in my monitor.

Like the nest-building behavior and I think you did well with the PP. Great eye contact too. Sharpness could be a little better, and a larger aperture may have helped here in that regard. Thanks for posting!

Nicley designed. Could go a bit brighter with the middle and dark tones. Using flash on nests with bright whites is always a challenge but almost always necessary.
