    This Pelican is a Florida bird, taken in March of this year. I cropped it just a little for composition, used curves, sharpened the eye and smartsharpened after resizing. I wish he had banked a little more but all in all I think it's one of my better efforts. C&C appreciated.

    Canon 40D; Av f5, eval @0; 1/800; ISO 200; 100-400 @ 190

    .... and a good one it was Katie !!! Remember that bird !!!

    As you say a slight bank would have been great but I like it as presented. Love the prominent eye contact and slight head turn. You are showing the back side which by far is the best for them plus a good hanging pose. Exposure is perfect and very sharp !!! Love it !!!

    Hi Katie - nice pelican - love the head angle and the detail in the eye.

    The wing police might get you for wing position.
