A Red Kite hunting down for fish..

i have taken this picture from a fisher boat -in germany- it is a wildlife shot.
these red kite search the water in a not very high position
and when a prey (here fish) was seen the kite stops in the air, turn suddenly on and dive in high speed down to the waterfront to catch the prey .

i like the wing position very much, hope you like it too. Taken with Nikon D5 and 200-500/5.6E VR@f 5,6, ISO 360, 1/2000sec with 440mm

Excellent .Agree with you about the wing position. Maybe a little bit more room at the bottom as she is diving if you had any ,but a great shot anyway.

I love these birds and you show their flight style beautifully in this shot. The wing position here is awesome,
but I agree that a bit more space above and/or below the bird might help. It would be super easy to add canvas
if you wanted to. Just an idea though.....

Wonderful image aside from adding more space to dive through... Would love to photograph this species, nice and sharp and such a dynamic position, well done.

wicked pose Eric, I can't see the details on my screen because the image is too small but it does look like a cool image! TFS

Cool looking image Eric! Great pose and colors. I agree about the smaller posting size losing some detail. Try the larger 1920px size next time, looks sharp enough from here so it will look great bigger. Well done

I too, love the wing position.
I would like to see more room below the bird,

As stated already, more room for the composition to breath is all that is needed. What a fantastic diving/banking pose that is!

Great pose, they twist and dive really quickly, so well caught. Another vote here for a little more negative space
