This male Evening Grosbeak was photographed in Minnesota on my trip with Gail and Ann. We visited a feeder that had about 100 of them but photography opportunities were not great as the trees were dense and the birds where all over and moving quickly. I set up in a spot that I knew had a nice background and waited for one of these males to appear. Spot was good for flight opportunities as well so I had my shutter speed quite high.

Beautiful vertical. Love the color of the BG. Really compliments to grosbeak very well.
IQ is excellent and colors look good.
For my taste compwise, I would take a bit off the top and add that to the bottom and add a bit off the RHS,

Isaac - I like the preparation you put into making this shot, I agree the BG is nice. The BG color transition from blue to brown on the left of the subject sort of creates a diagonal line that is a nice, subtle compliment to the diagonal perch. The yellow, orange, and brown colors in that bird are beautiful. Thanks for sharing the story behind this one.
Great looking frame Isaac! Love the pose, colors, BG and details. I agree with Gail about the comp. Less on top and more on the bottom. Well done

Really lovely. The BG color is great and I like the simple perch. Details and color look great and I love how good a look we get at the face Really shows the bird well. Looks like the MN trip was really productive. TFS
