One form a confiding female Goldeneye - don't often get the chance to get them this close in.

Fantastic Mike. And she is one smoking hot subject. Love the beautiful soft feather details you captured and that light is just beyond dreamy. Perfect eye contact. That wave in front that partially obscured the front is a bit of a bummer but far from a deal breaker. Is this from your hide or she just actually swam up to you? Asking for a friend

Cheers Isaac, this is just a regular lake that has a concrete boat ramp into the water so I was lying down on the ramp with the lens hood touching the water. There is a little wall at the side of the ramp which provided a bit of coverage

You nailed it Mike. I know how difficult it is to get close to these birds, you did real well here with your fieldcraft. And, it paid off big style. What a cracking looking image of a Goldeneye. Fab feather detail and that eye is just perfect. Great POV and HA. Lovely lighting.

    Well done.

Love the detail here and the low POV is excellent. I really like the colors in the water as well as on the bird. The eye really pops out. Congrats and TFS

Hi Mike, this must be one of the best Goldeneye images posted here. Excellent low perspective, and I like the soft light which in turn has exposed this very well. Tack sharp on the finer detail, and I like the bow wave. Well captured.

This is great. Lighting, low angle, blur, and detail are all spot on. Orange foot is a nice bonus.
