Winter is not complete until I get a good session with Snow Buntings....now can spring just come along please! This individual was somewhat clumsily, but certainly swiftly, waddling across the freshly fallen snow.
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1250s., f/8, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, cropped for composition, enhanced the faint catchlight. Audio used to coax the bunting(s) into photographic range.
I really like the pose and snow getting kicked up. Snow on the beak is a plus. Looks like this one is a mission. I've only seen this birds a couple times but have yet to get a good frame of them. TFS
Lovely delicate shot with all the necessary detail - the raised foot in an excellent extra touch. The buntings definitely look lighter than the ones we see over this side of the pond
