    Default Pelican preening

From California. This pelican was preening, and while not quite in the spectacular breeding plumage colours that people rave about, I thought he presented a nice picture with the more muted tones against the overcast sky and ocean. Please don't hesitate to let me know what you think!

I like this one Jake. Great feather detail, tack sharp, clean bg and nice natural colors without being over saturated. The portrait composition works well here.

Nice detail with a nice pose. I don't believe i have seen one not in breeding plumage.

    Hi Jake,
nicely done. I like the colors and detail you captured. Stands out well against the BG.

I like the pose detail colors and BG. Good use of vertical here as well. Nice look at the eye. TFS
