This image was taken a Beus Pond, UT.

People feed ducks and waterfowls at this place and it is quite a good spot photographing birds on a cloudy day.

I photographed this wood duck using fill flash as it was cloudy day, with very less Ambient light

    Nikon D850, 500 f/4 1.7x TCII
    ISO 1250, f/6.7, 1/800 sec
Manual Mode, Matrix Metering, 0 EV
    Fill Flash 1 1/3

    Post processing:-

Cleaned up few spots of highlights on the bird
Cleaned up background on Top Right hand corner
Increase brightness in Eyes and white Feather
    Nik 25/25 Filter, Noise Reduction

Let me know your thoughts and comments.

    Thanks for watching.

    Thanks
    Krishna

Nice head on shot and I like the crop a lot. Colors on the bird are great. Flash looks good to my eyes. I like the bit of water getting pushing by the bird. No nits from me, wish I could get close to these guys.

Beautiful shot Krishna! Everything is sharp and the composition is nice. There's one little white spot in the brown water that I would touch with the spot healing brush in the bottom left corner, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing.

    Hi Krishna,
I like this head on perspective - good details on the bird and you really captured the colors well. Nicely done.

Krishna - stunning image..the colors are great and the perspective make the shot. I haven't been out there for about 8 years, but I went to the U and still have friends out there. I've been dying to take a trip to my old spots down south, and a trip up to the Albion Basin this summer. We might have to plan to meet up at some point.
