Hi Jay,
I am also guilty of passing these birds by when perhaps I shouldn't. The BG really makes this image and the Coot stands out well against the colors. Nice details and well composed.

It is a beautiful image Jay. The colors are subtle but beautiful and compliment the dark feathers of the coot. Good feather detail and exposure on the dark feathers. Tack sharp.
