An early start at a new (to me) location where there is a good variety of ducks, this being one of the first of the day

This is one handsome looking duck. Nice low angle and detail on the bird.

I love the colors in this picture. That peach water works so well with the bird. Really very pretty. The details look great as well and I love the crop and eye contact. Not sure if it just the difference of the monitor that we are viewing on but the background has visible posterization. I think the eye looks a little foggy as well. Not sure what this species eye is like in real life but I would consider darkening it a little and maybe deepening the mid tones on it as well.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the color palette.
    So pretty and so unusual.
The mirror like water is killer as well.
    IQ and DOF perfect.
    Well done Mike!

It is a beautiful image. Perfect light and gorgeous colors on the duck, water and background. Tack focus, fine feather detail, composition and high IQ working together here.

Cheers for the reply Isaac. I think it may well be a difference in monitor, I'm not seeing any posterisation, but I'm only on a traditional HD 1920px monitor. I tried to leave the tones nice and soft as this was at first light and the eye is quite dark in real life but the sky here has lightened it up a little - I didn't tamper with the brightness.

Its certainly both interesting and frustrating with us all working on the 2 different styles of monitor now

Yeah on my monitor the posterization is pretty bad in the darker areas on the top right of the background. They sure do have cool looking eyes. Someone should market that smoky color to some womans make up company

Just gorgeous -- I love the colors both on the bird and BG. Low POV is great. The neck line colors are so cool as well. I also see the posterization in the BG. Love the great detail throughout. This shot is a winner. TFS

Oh my, what a beauty Mike. The light, the warm colour palette, beautiful detail, nicely composed. What's more to ask for.

This is one beautiful image with the peachy colour palette. Beautiful light all around. Great low angle, great background, I like the chosen crop. No complaints from me on this one.

Mike - wow! As the others have already said...this is a beautiful shot. I love the colors in the BG and on the bird; the great detail; and the eye contact. Again just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
