I managed to capture this one as I was photographing the Eider at the harbour. I thought it would do nicely for this months theme.

Fits the theme very well Will! I'm guilty of always overlooking gulls - I should take more notice

I like this 'hanging' pose, similar to seeing the shots of Terns on the Farne Islands. Details all good and exposure well controlled

    Will:

I like the pose, subtle detail in the background to give a bit more depth, those hanging feet. It seems to me the point of focus was behind the head, as the feet and parts of the wing seem sharper than the bill and eye.

    Cheers

Like this capture a lot, William. Nice head turn, and I like the detail brought out in the legs and feet accented by the highlighted ridges. Beautiful wing positions.

    Agree with Randy Will.
I think the legs look too sharp (sorry gurus, I don't have a 4K or 5K monitor, so it may look better on those).

In that instance Will, I'd sharpen the whole bird, then and only then, I would selectively sharpen the head only. Not sure if that is what you've done.

Lovely image in all aspects though mate. Love the pose and the intent on its face. :)

    TFS!!!
