    Default Peregrine Falcon

Inspired by all of the great raptor frames that have been posted lately, here is a photo from last March when I was lucky to spend time with this beautiful male Peregrine. He stayed on this branch for about 15 minutes and was busy preening and keeping his eye on his mate who was perched on a nearby cliff. This was one of the few times that he even bothered to look in my direction. From State Line Lookout in New Jersey. The background is the hills of Westchester County in the distance.

    Isaac:

Very effective use of DOF, great look back pose, catchlight, talon showing, exposure, angled perch. Nice detail.

In a perfect world, perhaps his head turned just a bit more away, so his bill was clear of his neck.

    Well captured.

    Cheers

Beautiful Soft colors. Nice Catch light and I agree with comments about head angle.

    Hi Isaac,
Terrific details and DOF. Really like the complementary BG. Nice backwards glance from the bird.

Way to go Isaac, crisp, clean, detail, a knock-out... congrats! I would be tempted to lift shadows a bit in the area of lower belly, under back feathers, side feathers, and where the feet are, perhaps squeaking some detail. I'd be jumping for joy. DOF is your best friend here!

This one looks awesome Isaac and as I mentioned to you before, it's 1 of my favorites of yours.
I Like this one even better than the last 1 you Posted because the coverts are raised and they add a lot of dimension to the image. I hate to sound like a skipping record but I guess the Caliber of a lot of images posted here lately all are print worthy. This is a definite candidate. Well done

Really like the monotone look. Like the details on the tail feathers and head. Nice HA to boot. Thanks.

I don't mind HA either. I would love just a bit more space at the rear end.
    WOW man!
This is a really solid image!

    This is beautiful Isaac.
My favorite BG color is that gun metal gray you have here.
Beautiful POV, lovely light and details.I did not mind the HA when I initially looked at it but then I read Randy's comment and I agree that it would have been a bit better to have less of a head turn but not a big issue!
Love the comp and the DOF you achieved ie. not blurring of the perch.
    It was worth the drive!!

Hi Issac, This is a spectacular capture of this beauty. Like the pose and super fine detail. Wonderful handling of the harsh light, and you could not have asked for a more complimentary BG. Well done.

Sweet! Great detail and DOF, wonderfully coordinated BG. As David noted, the raised covert and mantle feathers give it added depth. I had the same thought as Randy about the head turn, but that would be asking for that 'perfect world'. This comes close enough for me.

All been said above. I absolutely love these birds and you have captured it nicely. Subject, perch and BG all come together sweetly.

    Well done and TFS
