I created this image in June of last year while using my van as a blind. At first I thought that this was an adult male because of its colouring but then it started to beg for food and flare its flank feathers.

I cropped the shot (top and left side) to about 66% of full frame.

Canon Rebel XT with Sigma 50-500mm (handheld with support from door window frame)

    ExposureTime - 1/3200 seconds
    FNumber - 6.30
    ISOSpeedRatings - 400
Flash - Flash fired, compulsory flash mode
    FocalLength - 500 mm
    White Balance - Sunny

It's a very simple image which I like. The composition works well, the dark green BG is a favorite of mine and the bird is vocal. The detail and sharpness is excellent. Very well done.

What Lana said with the addition of one nit. The bg seems just a bit grainy. Perhaps selectively sharpening only the bird would have avoided the grain in the bg. Everything else is right on.
