    Default Coming in To Land

    Attached Images Attached Images

This image was taken today at Sugarland Park Lake, UT

People feed bread to gulls, ducks, Canada Goose regularly at this lake.

I observed that when ever they start feeding pigeons which were on electric pool come and land to a spot. I pre focused in a car near by and took this shot.

Let me know your thoughts and comments.

Post processing:- Cleaned up some spots on the ground and removed a small distraction on the background

I am not sure I overdid the sharpening, I am still learning to post at this higher resolution ( though I post at 1400 px wide)

    Thanks for watching.

    Thanks
    Krishna

like the BG, unfortunately the bird is angled a bit away from you....perhaps pigeons are not the most photogenic or sought after birds, but it's good practice for flight shots.

That is a sweet background for sure. While they may not be high on people's list of birds to photograph, they are none the less beautiful. Agree that it would be better if the bird was not angled away from you. Bird seems to have a bit of a blue cast to it as well. I would clone out the gray line (side walk?).

Yes, agree about flight angle. Less than ideal.
Personally, I don't have an issue with pigeons. Great for practice and they are still birds.

Great background. Wish the bird was turned more towards you. Sharpening looks good to me. Nice detail as well.

These guys make for wicked head-and-shoulder tight portraits with their subtle iridescent colours and way cool red eyes. Just a thought for your next visit there. Sharpening looks fine. Cool BG, but I agree about the bird angling away being unfortunate.

Keep em coming Krishna! head angle off as you know but i like the action. I would suggest a tighter crop, TFS...

As others have said - the turned away angle kind of undoes so much of what's good here - but if you get one fully parallel - who cares if it's a pigeon - I'd love it!

I did reduce the blue color cast. Interesting thing to note was that when I opened this image on web and saw this on my work station in office, it seemed very blueish. It was uncalibrated monitor in my case.

I will check the image again.

    Thank you.

Hi Krishna, nothing wrong with photographing pigeons, they are small, so great practise to get your eye in, and some are very attractive. Sweet BG, and another vote for not achieving the best HA.

I have lots of images of pigeons and as the other suggested they are great practice.
Nice colors and details on this 1. Keep up the good work.
