harrier on the hunt

Another from Salemville! This female harrier was circling round the field after others had left mostly feathers from the coot kill. Taken from Dave's truck as a blind along with Gail B. Processed this one myself and tried some new things I learned from Dave.
PS decreased exposure .20, sharpened and NR, second round of selective sharpening.

Salemville is killing me. Such a nice look at a harrier. Beautiful wing position against a great background. I really like the pastel colors of the whole frame. I think the harrier is a little too centered in the frame. I would take some off of the left side and add it to the right to give it more room to fly into. Also on the 5k imac it looks like you could up the brightness a little and add a bit of warmth. I came back to edit this and add the warmth part and I see that Arash has said the same thing.

nice frame of the female with good details, agree with Issac it's a bit too centered, can use more sharpening and warming of the colors (they look a bit dull for this bird). But wish you had caught her moments earlier when she was coming towards the camera. I personally find the banking or incoming harrier frames much more appealing

Excellent Ann. Lovely detail and the BG is real good. Re the crop, I would take a little from the LHS, the HA on the bird is good for the crop in front of the bird, I think it fits well. Brilliant capture. Well done

Man this is good Ann! Not easy to the track a Harrier out of the car with a 600 mm lens!! You must be working out The image looks great with lots of Beautiful details in the feathers and under wings. I do agree that the images a little dark and could use some spicing up.
Here is a repost with the brightness adjusted in levels and a bit more saturation added. I also recomposed moving the bird further left in giving her some more room to fly into. Great work.

You have a beautiful frame here that has been brought up to a new level with Dave's fixes.
Love the slight head turn. And despite the fact that the sun went behind that huge cloud just as we were shooting this beauty, the soft light is lovely.
