    Default Mallard hen with outstretched neck

    This Mallard hen was landing last weekend when captured. I liked the color harmony between her and the background.

    D500 Sigma 150-600 Sport f/7.1, 1/1250s, ISO 800 Hand held

    Post: Added canvas to the right. Selective sharpening.

    Advice and comments always appreciated.

    Really nice capture Randy, good details and pose, agree with you on the colors. I like it as presented (maybe a little more room on top...just maybe). Thank you for sharing.

    Nice Capture and the Wing Position. I do think cropping the image at the bottom would be good, but I am not quite sure of the same.

    I would love more room above and left of the bird.

    This is quite something Randy. The background really makes this one as the bird looks so wonderful against it. Really beautiful colour and tone on the bird, shown off in great detail in this larger posting size.

    Thanks everyone for the comments.

    I go back and forth about the crop, but will do a version with a bit more above. I was after the effect of her dropping down from the top to bottom as part of her landing.

    a superb image, the bg is perfectly soft and the head forward pose is awesome
