This image was taken a Bosque Del Apache, Crane Pools

Sandhill Crane taking off at Sunrise. Apart from the head angle I like everything about the shot.

A very nice take-off shot in lovely light. Although the bird's body seems to be angled slightly away, the head appears angled back so it is parallel to the sensor, or at least that's the way I see it. In any case, it works for me.

In a normal situation, I'd say the body angle isn't ideal, but here with the quality of the light I like the way the underside of the wings are lit so it works for me.

Love that water. I agree with bill about the head angle.

Fantastic light, and I love the drops trailing off the feet. I feel cropping out the golden strip above strengthens the image, but that is highly subjective. For sure I would clone out the large white spot at right. Body angling away, as mentioned, but the image has strong appeal nonetheless.

    Hi Dan,

Thank you. I agree the white spot should have been cloned, Just wanted to present the image with out any manipulations. Regarding the Golden Strip on the top. I did remove that a little , just wanted to have the same. Don't know why.. I like to have horizontal colors either at the top or at bottom

    Agreed about body angle.
If you had more room on top it could be included. It appears a bit too thin as is.
Love the light and the details.
