I like it a lot !!! All seems to go together for enhancing the image
Even there is a circle of ripples around the Dflies Very well presented and love the reflection. At first I though they were perched on an Alligator !!!!! Have seen them often there !!! I take it as presented for me !!!
Great image. Initially my eyes were drawn to the dark ripples on the right, but then they draw the eyes up and back down to the Dflies. The reflection is very nice. I learned something about using the pop-up flash on my 30D. I was disappointed most of the time with flash using aperture priority, my mode of choice.. Then I tried using manual mode and setting the shutter at 1/160 sec, and f/ 4.0. These are beginning settings. I think your flash will sink at up to 1/250. Fire away and then check your histogram. If you need to add or subract light, just adjust the f/ stop up or down until you get a good exposure. Works well for me and the 30D when I need flash..:D
Thanks again to all. This is such a terrific web site. Forgive me for not commenting on your photos, but I really don't feel qualified to make judgments about them. I could be a cheerleader, however!
Thanks, Bruce, for the tip about using flash. I'll try it. My present practice is to select Av mode and dial in the amount of flash exposure that I think the situation requires. Then check the histogram. Usually I am using -1 2/3 Flash Exp comp, more or less.
