    Another from that -40 degree windchill morning that had beautiful hoar frost forming on every branch. This individual was more than happy taking in the offered seeds.

    Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1600s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, FF, darkened the pupil.

    The frost is great, like the comp with the slightly angled perch, soft light and nice exposure.

    Hi Dan, I like the 'twisted' pose, exposure spot on, and I like the frost covered perch. I do like your smooth clean BG too.

    Ive experienced temps in the +40 deg C, but cannot even fathom the opposite scale of minus 40 deg, and with the wind blowing - I'll keep to Africa.

    Gorgeous shot Dan but I really wish there was more DOF, the OOF tail keeps drawing my eye from the beautifully detailed head.
    -40, by eck they make 'em tough out there!
