I really like this, the composition and colours and the low angle of course. The wispy clouds help contain the image and the lion seems to be pretty contented I suspect he has still got a pretty full stomach.

Hi Marc -Beautiful colors and the low pov elevates this above other flat cat shots giving a sense of the king reigning over his territory.

This is really quite something Marc. The simple composition is great with sky+clouds, single Acacia in classic form, lion, plain and foreground. These low POV shots are really unique. I remember a canon rep telling me about a technique similar to the one you used but I've never seen an actual shot (or two now from you) done like this.

    nice job here Marc
just enough mushy FG here to emphasise the angle, and the OOF tree takes it over the top for me

Hi Marc , love the super low POV and the male looking up slightly ....often seen myself . But the low angle makes big difference for me , color and tones looking good and the inclusion of the OOF tree is just great . I do like the whispy clouds , too as they do break the blue sky and add a bit of interest .
Good work with the toss in the field.

    TFS Andreas

I really like the comp here Marc with the OOF FG and the more or less 2/3 sky, angry sky.
    Cool image overall!

    Dear Marc,
Love the unusual POV here and pose from this male. That little tree balances the frame beautifully. Nice vibrant colours, lovely tones, awesome sky. Oh yes, ticks all the boxes for me

    Kind regards,
