The lochs local to me are all covered in ice, so theres not much wildfowl showing. I managed to captured these two Black Headed Gulls(winter plumage) yesterday as they were having a squabble on the ice. More of a fun image, you don't see a pose like this very often.

    Will:

I like it a lot, and yes, not the usual gull image. Sharp, well exposed, great pose, nice amount of detail in background for context without overpowering the subject.

    Fun!

Great moment captured in mid squabble, William. Nice light, detail, and well done handling the blacks and whites. Like your crop as well.

Quite an amazing pose, well captured. Nicely exposed for lights and darks. I'm not crazy about the proportions of the frame, but I don't know how you could have made it better. Would have been a good one for next month's Gull theme.

Will, excellent moment captured. I've not seen anything like this before. I especially like the lower gull's 'sitting' pose. I'm guessing the slippery ice has caused it to lose its footing. Detail is great, as usual. I'd be inclined to crop tighter on this one. Also not entirely sure about the WB overall. It does look a little blue but maybe that's how the scene was.

This is super cool Will! Can not ask for better interaction and a more unique poses. Excellent stuff. I do see a blue cast to the birds and the ice. Black-headed gulls have pale gray, not bluish gray wings.

Hi Will, the thumbnail doesn't do this image any justice. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this. Very well timed to capture this behaviour, and both are well exposed and sharp. If this were mine, I may have taken a bit off the bottom and added to the top.

    Will!
This is awesome behaviour that you had captured.
It is well beyond what I would call a "fun image".
    Well done mate!
