    Default American Tree Sparrow on Milkweed

    Taken in late December. A setup with seeds placed underneath the perch to entice the sparrows onto it.

    Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/500s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, FF, NR to the BG.

    Lovely little sparrow that I don't see much around here. Love the perch, and the coordinated colors. My eye does go to the snipped end of the RH Milkweed pod.

    I like the colors of pods and background playing together well, and the bird and the pods. It seems like the plane of focus is just slightly anterior to the bird, as the inside of the pod on the right seems sharper.

    Snow in the air and on the beak works well.

    Beautiful image Dan, I have a very slight reservation over the leaf on the right being cut off otherwise love the colours and the image quality is excellent.
