I haven't posted in years...really. 'Hope everyone is well. This was shot on a drizzly, gray day at the Sweetwater Wetlands in Gainesville last month. I have not seen numbers of Sandhill Cranes anywhere close to what I've been seeing for the past several months, including some potential NEW nesting areas in NE Florida. Nikon D7200, 200-500 VR, handheld at f/5.6, iso 1000, 1/250 sec. at 390mm.

Well Robert, I probably wasn't around when you used to post...so nice to meet another Floridian here. I love the upside down preening poses. Nice detail in the eye, top of the head, and I love the soft grey/ brown BG. Thanks for sharing.

Really cool perspective and a refreshing change to the typical crane images we see. I like these out of the box kind of shots. Welcome back. I would apply a touch more noise reduction to the background. Ideally I would have preferred it if you moved to your right and got the bird to be more parallel to the back of your camera. Please note that the size limits have changed and you can now post up to 1920 wide.

Nice capture and I like preeng pose. Yes to some more noise reduction on the background but otherwise a pretty cool looking frame. Well done.

This is quite a unique image of a common subject. Well seen and executed!
