This is another shot from the Mallard wing flap I posted recently. The wing underside this time.... With the ongoing debate re image size I have posted this at 1600 x 1200 and 595kb.

Nice low angle and background and showing the iridescence well on the Mallard. Quite like the pose you have captured here, bit different.

Beautiful Light. I like the shot a lot.. Nice Head Angle.

I see couple of color gradient stops in the back ground, may be it could be on my monitor..

Nice pose and colors. Always good to shoot a common bird and make an interesting and engaging image. Looks great at this size. Post it larger next time. It is easy to zoom in and out if people need to.

Love the light (esp. on the white wing) - and the elevated "chin". Thanks.

Hi Will I like the low POV and framing, but it just looks a bit flat. You need to eek out more from the chest to get some shape and form (curvature), plus some light back into that nice wing, so you start to see the layering. Reducing some Purple, Magenta and Blue helps I feel, but watch the choking in the darks in the neck. If you are going to post big then why not increase the PPI too?

Thanks for that guys, much appreciated. Hi Steve, thanks for the tips, and the repost. Looking good...not sure about the darker BG though. I'll give it a go. If I get stuck, I'll give you a shout

Will it may just have come from a 'Global' adjustment, so don't worry, however it may help to add some pop/standout to the subject???

  10. Thanks William Dickson thanked for this post
