    David:

    I like the back lighting here and you maintained good exposure on the rest of the bird. A bit tight in the frame for me, esp top and bottom. Background blur is just about perfect for my tastes.

    Thanks Randy. I have a little bit of room at the top but much. This one I took in landscape but I probably have one in portrait I will look when I get back to my computer.

    Nice looking subject, and I like what you have of the perch showing. Personally for me the BG is too much though. In this case, if the subject is tame-ish, you could try to approach closer and zoom in for tight head and neck portraits. This would help blur and isolate the BG even more and create better separation of the subject. Sharp as posted, and OK colours!
