Same story as the other Horned Lark photo. Took a long and slow crawl on a snowy field and slowly approached the larks. Got into place so when the perfect evening light happened I was ready. From Great Kills Park on Staten Island. Temperature was 10 degrees with a strong north west wind.

Canon 1DX mark ii and Canon 500 f4 ii + 1.4x iii. F8, ISO 1250, SS 1/2500. Processed with DPP 4.7 and PS.

Very nice Isaac! The POV is fantabulous and I love the light.
    Sharpness looks excellent.
I like the little horns peeking through.
The blue streak in the BG really makes this shot.

    Issac:

Nicely critiqued by Gail, agree on all points. I also like the comp/crop.

Makes me cold just thinking about it!

    Cheers

Love the sweet light and the perspective. Cleaned up a few stray blades of grass and a white pebble ...

I like your version. I thought about taking out those things but then thought that it's a field bird in the grass and maybe I should just let it be. But I think your way is better.

Dave is our very own David Salem. We were having a conversation about how things look on the 5k iMac once downsized for web. Specifically how bad they look. And were discussing different methods of downsizing and sharpening. So this one was named after him.

Very nice looking image Isaac. Great details and nice low angle. Arthur repost is the final touch.
