This beautiful male sure added colour the the hoar frost-covered scenery! After taking a few images I back up to include some of the framing branches above. I normally would have simply removed the TC, but it was just too cold to want to fiddle with that!

    Picture Perfect.

The reds really pop out on the snow.

    Thanks for sharing.

I like the eye contact, setting and frost covered perch. Nice image Daniel.

Love the reds against the snowy surroundings. Great pose and detail.

Beautiful compostion. I still remember an image you posted a while back similar to this one. They are beautiful, the red bird against the white snow is superb.

Cardinals in snow are classic. I still don't have a proper shot of one! The reds look great. I do wish the bird wasn't blocked by the branches so much but all else works so well. Very nice.

Beautiful work, Daniel and such a novelty for me where snow is a rarity - although we do get stiff frosts where I live in winter. Note only is the bird a real stunner but the surrounds are so beautifully rendered. Nothing I'd change here. TFS.

    Daniel:

I like the looser comp here, since the background is part of the story. Great 'hair do' on this guy, and the mega fluff up speaks to the cold weather.

    Cheers
