    John:

    I like the color harmony between the bird and water color. Head angle, your low shooting angle.

    I might consider cropping most of the white at the top off. It competes with the bird, and the bottom line being a bit diagonal makes the bird look like it isn't level, even though it really is.

    Quite Adorable. I do love Gadwalls a lot. I agree with the comments.

    I would have cropped the top as well. If it is too tight add canvas back with the same color as water.

    Good details on the face and flanks. Neat brushstroke-like swirls in the water in front of the bill. The white at top does not bug me too much, but the large whites spots below do so more. A species I've yet to photograph, nice one!
