Nice Head Portrait. The dark distractions in the back ground is drawing my eye except that everything seems good.

    Thanks for sharing

A fine looking Doe with nice look at that amazing eye. Looks a bit contrasty but it could be the light. A bit more room to the right would be nice.

What a lovely portrait John again love that snow on the nose.

John what is the blue is it water,if I could i'd tone it down a bit and also play with those white areas in the lower reaches of the frame. John this frame is really unusual for a deer image with all that blue and the white area, what are we looking at here in the bkg sorry buddy can't help but be curious

have the best new year mate

Hi John, as a portrait it's a wee bit tight for me. I might be temped to drop the exposure a fraction on the subject, as looks like a flash went off???? Not sure what is happening on the raised bit of fur, blurring looks like some cloning as the sharp & blur jar????

Personally I would try to loose the white patch and blend the blackish areas as mentioned, but within PS, the blade of grass is a bit unfortunate.

Thanks Steve, No flash aimed my shadow right at the deer. This doe has a weird mark on her neck where you see it raised. Nothing is cloned in the background. Bottom is snow in shade.

Hi John -- I completely agree with what Steve has to say. And that blade of grass is a bit of a prob IMO. The above suggestions will certainly improve this image. TFS !

Hi John - Nice warm light that has brought out good detail, especially in the eye. If it were mine I would have placed the head a little more off center with slightly more room to the right. I would also drop the blues in the shadow on the snow, it is very strong and then burn the brighter patch at the edge of the snow in the middle. I agree with Steve on dropping the exposure.
