Sloth bears are not easy to find in Indian forests, even if we do see them they are generally very shy. This was the first time I saw one in the open near a watering hole in Ranthambor reserve in Rajasthan. Was happy to get this.

Hi Sanjeev - I too would be very excited to get this. I don't recall seeing very many images of a sloth bear out in the open. Shooting angle isn't great but I bet there wasn't much you could do about it at the time. Great eye contact and nice to see the claws. The shadow also adds a nice element for me.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Hi Sanjeev i would agree with Rachel , very special to get this guy out in the open .
I would be very happy if i could call this my image , color and tones looking good to me. You have lovely detail in the fur and well handled blacks under the given lighting situation .
Eye contact is nice addition .

Nice sighting well executed , TFS Andreas

Love the bear but really dislike the shadow - maybe lighten it a bit?

HI Sanjeev -- You have got this guy very nicely in the open , very shy characters they are. Lovely details and nicely exposed . The eye contact somewhat compensates for the shooting angle . Enjoyed viewing this one. Nicely done . TFS !

Hi Sanjeev, can only echo Andreas's thoughts, cracking detail and good to see you pushing the ISO too.
