The tern is tack sharp as posted, well exposed, and I like the typical tern "bent wing" position. I do wish the BG was smoother though (although I do like the strips of colour), and there are a couple of what seems to be cloning evidence marks.
I like the exposure, wing position, slight angle towards us in the frame, good sense of motion, direction from the pose and horizontal bands in background.

Hi Dan, not sure what you are seeing for cloning marks... nothing cloned out. Here is a edit and repost with the background smoothed... 100% noise reduction and negative clarity in Lightroom.

Such crisp detail, Joe. I was happy with the background as originally posted but the repost is fine too. The only thing I would say about that part of the image is the intensity of colour which I am now starting to associate with Nikon. If mine, I'd desaturate that background a whisker. The bird looks stunning with great wing position, angle to camera, colour and tonal range.
Hi Joe, just above the near wing looked like clone marks to me, apologies. I suppose that is one reason having more distance between the subject and BG helps in many cases. I do think the repost looks better though.

Hi Dan, thanks for coming back. Here is a edit with the saturation of the background lowered. The image was captured mid to late morning with the Florida sun, I think that is why the background was bright and vivid.
