I captured this one at sunrise, on what will be my last trip to my favourite Glen, this year.

Thanks for looking, and I would like to thank everyone for their support, throughout the year, and wish you all a Happy New Year, and all the best for 2018.

Lovely portrait of the grouse peeking it's head up. Nice feather detail, perfect complimentary background, wonderful color palette. Thank you for sharing, Will.

Lots to like here, Will. I do like this type of shot though with the subject peeking over OOF foliage. You've done this one very nicely with a composition that works really well. Great background and excellent IQ. All the best to you for 2018 too and hope you are having an enjoyable festive season.

Nice work here Will, good fieldcraft to get so close, and just the right amount of DoF to not let the foreground interfere with the bird

Meant to comment on this one a few days ago... love the head details and the foreground OOF area... gives the viewer a "feel" for the life-view of the subject... puts me 'right there'.
keeper for sure. Also, spent some time on your site Bill... nice work there... really like the way you've listed the name/latin name and watermark in the lower area... might 'steal' that from you in the future (great approach me thinks). All the best...

You've been rocking the grouse shots. Another beauty. Love the color palette and the pose. Only thing is that on my screen there appears to be some posterizing in the background. I know you have mentioned that you have a 5k screen. I recently got one also.

Thanks for that. I find that posterizing happens quite frequently on the 5K Isaac. How are you getting on with yours. Sorry for the late reply but, have been away in warmer climates, for the New Year.
