That's Bring Your Own Bird. We were watching a group of Caracaras devouring frozen chicken parts that had been put out for them, when this guy flew in from somewhere with his own carry-out meal. It looks like a decapitated black-tailed duck, maybe a Ring-necked Duck or something similar. Shot from a blind on the Martin Ranch, South Texas, last month.

Quite a beautiful image! It has a 3-D feel to it. Nice colours, and textures to the face. Interesting BG, in a good way. I do see what appears to be areas that had the very deepest shadows lifted, but all else looks fine to me.

Well captured Bill. IMHO you could even loosen the crop if you can.
    Well done mate, lovely image.

Lovely shot Bill, in addition to the darks I would suggest have a look at the legs - lower yellow luminosity.. otherwise a fine shot.

Thanks Keith. I've been very pleased with the lens so far. It is the Contemporary model.

BYOB - I like that. And it does make an interesting image. Frozen meat we would have to clone out, this makes the image more interesting. Iris -- would it benefit from some work to make it more translucent? Another lovely image from Martin Ranch.

Thank you all. I'll take another look at the legs and the shadows.
