    Default co-operative Snowy Owl

I saw a report on e-bird of a snowy less than 20 minutes from me a couple of weeks ago so I decided to check the spot out. I found him sitting on a rock pile right beside the road. I was able to pull right up to him with my pickup and he even fell asleep for a while as I wore the shutter button out lol.
I eventually parked my truck a little farther down the road and walked very slowly into the field where the rock pile was to get a better angle with less branches in front of him.I spent almost a hour with him and the decided to let him be. This is a slight crop from right and bottom . Heavy overcast
    No baiting for this one.
detail extractor on the owl only and added some black with a levels adjustment layer then used smart sharpen on the owl only. noise reduction on the background and cloned out a couple of branches bottom right.

Stu, what's not to like. Perch, environment, details and subject matter are very nice.

Love the direct stare and the image quality. Nice to see this type of habitat included as well. This is a refreshing change from the typical shot that I see and have taken of snowys on the beach. Only thing I would do is bring up the brightness a touch. Very nice overall.

Nicely composed, and framed by the vegetation. The rock perch is very cool. I'd be tempted to lift the eyes a tad, but being careful not to make them look artificial. Beautiful image.
