    Got him at the last light of the day. Still too much iso I'm afraid. Stuck around till dark but no one else showed up.

    Mike nice capture is it a short eared Owl?For some reason it has some blur,not as sharp as it could be. Hand held? Maybe the problem at 1/400. With your camera body could have used lots more in the ISO. I have the same problem when hand holding doesn't take much for me to mess up. I like it standing on the common Mullen,and nice background. Keep posting

    Mike, nice owl, perch and BG. I would have at least doubled the ISO and SS the IDX2 could have handled it easily.
    The image does look a bit soft and this would have helped.

    Very nice image of a nice bird. You would have a stronger image with an even, monotone background. Lowering the camera a few inches would have done the trick.
