    Same bird, same location, as Geoffrey's post of several days ago. Different pose. A very cooperative model.

    D500, 500f4 + 1.4 TC, ISO 2000, 1/1000s @ f/8 manual.

    Beautiful setting and owl Bill! The snow and sand combination works well and the BG is complimentary. I wish a couple of the strands of grass weren't there but the eyes are clear and it is natural as the owl is trying to hide. Thanks for sharing.

    Good one also, Bill. It's quite subjective when it comes to two peoples eye on the same subjects appearance and quality of light. Your image was captured 26 seconds after mine. Great eye contact.

    It is a wonderful shot Bill. The whites look perfect and the snow adds. On my bucket list. There was one on Assateague last week but I missed him.
