Here is an image of a Toucan taken last month in Costa Rica. The background is distant mountain and mist. Hope you enjoy it.

Jim, rarely do I see shots of toucans in flight, nice wing position, colors and BG.

Sweet wing position. I agree it is very cool to see one in flight. Bird has a blue cast and I think that your shutter speed was too slow to get the bird tack sharp. It looks good but I can't help but think a faster shutter speed would not have revealed a little more detail on the bird.

Thanks Tim and Isaac for your comments. Here is a repost with an attempt to remove the cast.

Really nice In Flight pose of this beautiful bird. Agree with Issac on the shutter speed and blue cast. You did great considering the low light conditions. Good image, thank you for sharing.

Colors look much better now. Small change but makes a big impact.

Hi Jim. Congratulations catching this beauty in flight. Good wing position. Repost is an improvement. Blurred wingtips are fine, but Isaac makes a good point about SS vis-a-vis sharp detail.

I agree with the shutter speed being low. I am reluctant to push the ISO too high with the D500 but have seen many images in the ISO 3200 range that look good. I will have to work on processing high ISO images. Thanks for the comment Bill.
