I was really pleased when I came across this individual that was hanging out on this delicate perch. It stayed long enough that I could get a better angle on it and compose a few different ways (with this one being the best by a mile).

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/800s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, FF, a couple of extraneous twigs cloned out, deepened the blacks, darkened tfe pupil, enhanced the catchlight.

Not very often that my heart does the " flip-flop" for someone else's photograph but this is a spectacular image.
I love everything about it- the comp, the ethereal quality, the IQ, the soft color palette, the hint of snow.
Perfect for Xmas! Print this one!

One could consider cloning out the OOF branch on the tail ( the middle one) but I am being really nitpicky here.

Really elegant and pretty. Post card material. The bird just pops against that delicate perch and the snow. I agree with Gail about the part intersecting the tail.

I really like the image and feel to it. Colors standout against white snow background. Thanks for sharing

Daniel, this is probably my favorite from you, great details and colors, nice perch, this has the holiday feel to it also. Very nice.

Great image Daniel! I like the perch, pose, IQ, composition and the branch poking out between the wings is interesting.

Just stunning. Female cardinals are beautiful birds, and seen against the snow this captures her at her finest. Checks all the boxes.

Remarkable capture, Daniel. I like how she's squeezed between the branches, and gave you a nice head turn. Colors look spot on against the snowy backdrop.

Really really nice scene -- I love the perch and snow scene and the bird looks great with a nice HA. Very postcard esque. TFS

Daniel, just as well it's mid summer here and I can't contribute to the 'winter' theme for this month with competition like this! Only one thing to say: Simply stunning!
