I like the composition. The bird looks soft. The focus looks like it may have been on the Spanish Moss. Can't say that I particularly care for eye catch light either.
I really like the composition here Joe and you being able to get the bird in that opening. The image looks a little soft, a little bit more of sharpening will help. How close were you to the bird? maybe the depth of field was very narrow. But anyway I think that this is a really nice frame. Thank you for sharing.
Hi all, thank you for viewing, commenting and suggesting improvements. After reading your comments I checked a couple things regarding the image. Here is a print screen showing the focus point and related data regarding the image. The focus point was one up from the center and locked onto the face. The depth of field was 0.31 meters (12.2 inches). Checking the sharpening settings I could have been more aggressive. I will post an edit of the image in a following post.

I think I must need new glasses because the OP looks sharp to me but when I look at the repost it does look better!
I really like the feel of this image- great environmental feel to it with the spanish moss.

Thanks Gail, regarding the glasses... you and me too, I thought the original post was sharp also.

Like this capture of our old friend, Joe. Thanks so much again for introducing him to us. Like all the Spanish moss framing him on the perch. Good work on repost.
