    Crested Caracaras from Martin Ranch, South Texas, last month. Shot from a blind. Almost full height cropped from horizontal.

    D500, Sigma 150-600 @ 165 mm, ISO 800, 1/2500s @ f/8 manual, Gitzo and Mongoose.

    Lovely shot Bill good details in the dark plumage. You consider lowering the luminosity on the legs and feet of the bird in the air. I don't know if you had the chance but I would have certainly tried to get a portrait mode image with the zoom lens.

    I think this is excellent. I can't understand why more people have not commented on this image.BPN seems to be in the doldrums the past couple of months. :-(
    Love the sky with cloud BG, the behavior shown and the comp. Nice perch too.
    I might be tempted to lift the shadows a bit bot otherwise looks good to me,

    Thanks Jonathan, Gail and Raybel. Yes I could probably open up the shadows a bit. And yes, I have also noticed the doldrums.
