I captured this one on a trip to Cairngorm at the weekend. The Cairngorm Herd is the UK's only free ranging herd. They were reintroduced into Scotland in 1952, after having been extinct for a long time. The herd is now approx 150 strong. The tundra conditions on Cairngorm Mountain suits them just fine. I was hoping for snow but conditions were pretty poor with dark cloud overhead.

Cool reindeer here. Love the contrast between the reindeer and the background.

Hi Will - Nice to see a reindeer this time of year. It even looks like it's smiling. Nice sharpness and detail. I would reduce the blues and cyans on the reindeer if it were mine, there's a slight cast. Did you mean for the title to say Theme? I'll correct it for you but the easiest way is to use the pull down menu in the prefix box when posting.

Lovely shot Will - hey I bet there's plenty of snow now!
i too suggest remove the blue from the fur also suggest you make an accurate selection of the antlers then -> curves with luminosity and lower the curve so see the effect.

Hi Will, glad you had a successful trip up there, although having snow could perhaps be a bit problematic.

Agree on the blues and a bit more head turn would have helped I think and so you could have afforded to loose the leg coming in. Any with a WA as I suggested??? i would add a luminosity layer on the antlers to bring some more tone back in, look a bit thin.

Thanks for that Steve. I was halfway up the A9 when you suggested the WA. I won't forget it next time.

Really nice work, Will. The reindeer almost looks like it has mischief in mind with that expression and look. This also looked a little blue to me on the fur but others have commented on that already. Great detail on the animal and a nice contrasting background. Some of the highlights on the head look a touch hot to me. Maybe worth another play if you are going to look at this one again. Lots going for this one - wish it was mine!

Your Reindeer speaks to me, Will I absolutely love the expression you captured - superb timing, and there's something so gentle and friendly about this character!

I am with Rachel and Jon regarding blues, easy fix if you like. Lovely detail and colours as well as sharpness. Would love to see an RP where you implement Steve's suggestions regarding antlers... I really think it's worth spending more time on this frame.

Very happy to see you posting again here in Wildlife, and always a pleasure to view your images, dear Will

    Have a lovely evening,

    Kind regards,
