    Default Mallard on ice

I took this picture while crawling on my stomach in the snow with my dad on a cold(-15°C) but clear day. The light on my subject is diffused because she stood on the edge of a shadow made by a nearby building . The mallards were by a partly frozen river. I like the effect of the two types of ice and the clear water near by.

Beautiful colors and light, I really like the Mallard on the ice, nice wintery feel to it. I would crop this one to a pano and give it a much needed CW rotation.

Agree with the comments above. I would say a 3:2 crop would work better. Definitely take a fair bit off the top. Nice job getting this guy in some nice light.

Very nice pose and I like the the mood and light. I agree with Mike and Glenn regarding rotation and crop.

    Hi Joel,

Agree on the crop and rotation, and I would add a bit more contrast and slight sharpening for a pop.
