    Another of the Scrub Jay images I captured Friday morning. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED image captured at 330mm
    1/2500 F/8 Matrix Metering EV +1 ISO 720, camera supported by a monopod
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic CC and Photoshop CC 2018, small branches and leaves removed that appeared to be growing from the birds head
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    Nice HA and details on this beautiful bird that I still don’t have the pleasure of seeing in the flesh. I like the comp also. I don’t like the intersecting branches, but that’s where the bird decided to perch and you don’t have a chance to photograph this beauty every day. Thank you for sharing Joe.

    This is a beauty, Joe. Very much like the complimentary sky, and how well it works with the shade of blue on the Jay. Would love to get this close next time.

    Great work Joe. This looks excellent with the complementary background again. The perch is busy but nothing you can do, especially for a rarity where the opportunities will be more limited. Detail looks superb on this one, as it did for your last post of this species. Keep them coming!
