I found this guy while driving home a few weeks ago. I rapidly went home got my gear and went back to get the photo. I was excited to get the photo because they are rarely seen here during the day, much less perched in a branch. Most of the times they just lay on the ground and are active at dusk. I also manged to get it with the eyes open which is a plus! I had to get on top of the car's seat and stick my head through the side of the car to get a better angle since the bird was a bit high.

You did real well here Raybel. It all worked out well. Lovely looking image. I like the DOF and the detail. The BG colours blend real well with the FG. Nice one.

An unusual shot of this bird, Ray. In my limited experience with their cousins, the only daytime views are flat against a branch, eyes closed, and almost invisible. Nicely done. I might be tempted to use Curves to tone down the brighter tones just a bit.

Hey Ray, wonderful sighting and image! If anything, depending on what was beyond the frame above, I would have pointed my lens about an inch higher to get the subject a bit lower. I love the framing by the leaves, and the BG. Super cool!
