Hudsonian Godwit, worn juvenile plumage
This image was created on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 21 at Heckscher State Park, Long Island, NY with the Induro GIT304L Grand Series 3 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod/Mongoose M3.6-mounted Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS II USM lens, the Canon Extender EF 1.4X III, and my favorite shorebird photography camera body, the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV. ISO 800. Evaluative metering + 2/3 stop as framed: 1/1600 sec. at f/7.1 in Av mode. Cloudy WB in light cloudy conditions. LensAlign/FocusTune micro-adjustment: -2. Center AF point/AI Servo/Expand/Shutter Button AF was active at the moment of exposure. The selected AF point was on the front of the bird’s breast as originally framed, right on the same plane as the bird’s face and eye.
As for the image, don't be shy. All comments are welcome and appreciated. Fr the complete story of that afternoon and my previously futile efforts to locate this bird, see the blog post here.
Thanks to Isaac Grant for his help with this one. :)
