    Default Pectoral Sandpiper

Here is another photo of a Pectoral Sandpiper photographed on the East Pond of Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge from last month while with Arthur Morris. We were really lucky as this bird foraged very close to us for a long time. Often it was so close that I could not focus on it. In order to get at the birds level we had to lay down in the muck of the pond but I am always happy to do that to be at eye level with shorebirds.

I really like this a lot Issac. The light is beautiful, and the light angle is perfect... well done to get this eye-level POV, I love the colorful habitat you captured here.
Masterfully captured and processed with wonderful detail and rich color. Excellent work.
(Minor nit: I would be tempted to clone out the lower catchlight).

That was a great bird and a great morning. We lucked out. Love the pose and the fresh juvenal plumage with the great SH and EXP.

Excellent capture, Isaac. Like everything about this image, including the feather detail, colors in the BG and reflected in the water. Well done.

Lovely work Isaac: great pose from the bird, great detail and tone on the bird including excellent detail on the underside and nice colour in the background. Your POV was worth the trouble, I think - I always get a sore neck doing those shots though: how do you deal with that one? Composition is simple but effective and works for me. I also noticed the extra catchlight but a very minor point in what is a wonderful image.
