This pelican image was captured in southern Texas a week ago, and may or may not fit the theme, because they are found near coastlines in winter, and on inland lakes in summer. I'll leave it up to Stu. This is a lifer for me. C&C welcome.

Congrats on the lifer Geoffrey. Nice flight pose on the bird with the upward wings. Good control on the whites and blacks, apart from the underside of the wing near to the body where they look a wee bit hot. The BG shows the bird well.
Congratulations on your lifer here Geoffrey. This looks pretty good all round for me. The only thing I'd revisit, as Will suggests, is the tone on the upper wing which looks a bit thin and lacking detail but I don't think there's much to change there. Good wing position and nice detail all round. A more out of focus background would have been nice but nothing you can do about that. THanks for sharing.
A fine shot and congratulations. Pretty good exposure but I think it would benefit from lowering the lightest lights and lifting the darkest darks, it doesn't need much but it makes a difference.

Nice wing position, good exposure except as noted above. I might have been tempted to apply a very slight blur to the bg, or heavy dose of NR. Congrats on the lifer. (Did we not see White Pelicans at Ding Darling? Maybe not.)
Thanks everyone. Bill I just looked through my images from Ding Darling and you are absolutely correct. We did see them first few hours of arrival the first evening in a large group as they were grooming. I stand corrected, and they were lifers for me then.
